Berlin wants to become climate-neutral as quickly as possible and the use of solar energy plays a decisive role in this. In March 2020, the Berlin Senate therefore decided to implement the Solarcity master plan — an ambitious plan with 27 measures to accelerate solar expansion in Berlin. The participating administrations, associations and companies have now worked intensively on implementation for a good one and a half years.
With this film, which appeals to a broad public, we have been working on the common thread for a long time and tried to represent Berlin authentically in the design concept.
The story shows us how climate change is also affecting Berlin and quickly shows the path developed towards a climate-neutral city. In doing so, we look at various situations and find out which means should be used to achieve the solar revolution.
For this scene-packed film, we relied on an intensive mix of colors and textures. It should look handmade and not “perfect”, authentic to Berlin. We couldn't ignore the first film (not from us), but we should and wanted to further develop the look. The many characters were a challenge, especially when combined with the textures.
